I’m Tasha Wilkinson, an illustrator and witch, hence the name Ink Witch. 😉
My favourite materials are ink, dip pens, fineliners and Brusho. Sometimes I like to sneak in some glitter and foiling – I’m like a magpie for shiny things.
I’m inspired by magick, witchcraft and the occult, and my real life practice of witchcraft has resparked my passion for illustration. That being said, I’m happy to illustrate non-occult related things! See my yoga illustrations in my portfolio for an example.
Artists and designers that inspire me are Arthur Rackham, Camille Rose Garcia, William Morris and Josephine Wall. I’m sure there’s many more! Follow me on Pinterest for other bits and bobs that inspire me. I love patterns, materials and anything old worldly – you can usually find me perusing antique and second hand book shops. I love collecting trinkets (again, like a magpie!) and sometimes these inspire me in my work.
Fun fact: I collect copies of Alice in Wonderland, but only with the original John Tenniel illustrations. I currently have around 15 copies.
As a teenager I moved house a lot and ended up going to different colleges as a result. I don’t see it as a negative – I’ve met many wonderful people and learnt a lot, not just in art/design aspects!
