Here is my final book completed for the Collections project. I’m sad that I won’t have the time to do any more now – at least not up to a high standard – but I’m happy that I have 3 nice books that I’m really proud of and that I’m happy to put into an exhibition. It’s been really fun making these books, and it’s nice to be open about my personal practice as well as incorporating that into my illustration practice.
The theme for this book is Luck Spells – surprisingly it was difficult to find short, written spells on this theme! The easiest theme was Love Spells and as most witches know, this is probably the most commonly asked for in spells, magick and divination. I have used Brusho, fineliner, foiling, glitter and stick on gems for this book. For the second page, the ‘symbol’ is actually from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck – from the Wheel of Fortune card. The spell on that page is, “Flame of magick, brightly burn, Let the wheel of fortune turn”.
I’m really excited to put these up at the exhibition and to see everyone’s work together. It’ll be a really nice ending for the year. 🙂
