Japanese Stitched Books

These are a few little Japanese Stitched books I made at uni as part of our Book Arts module. I really enjoyed making these and I probably shouldn’t say this, but somehow stabbing into things is quite therapeutic for me. In all seriousness though, I think these are one of my favourite books that we’ve learned to make so far! I really enjoyed experimenting with stitching – I used to do sewing quite a lot and I have missed it. I’d like to make some more of these books and see where I can take it, as I have seen a few lovely ones on Pinterest where all sorts of shapes and patterns have been stitched in, even flowers! I also like making things difficult for myself (we’ll call that challenging myself haha) so it’d be nice to try.

Apologies for the poor quality pictures.. I found my digital camera and for some reason it didn’t want to focus in on anything! Never mind. I’ve edited them as much as I can so hopefully they’re visible enough. Perhaps I’ll retake the pictures in future. 🙂
